Resumo

The application of problem-based learning methodology can contribute significantly to educational practice, thus acting as complementing traditional teaching models. The article aimed to analyse the methods of assessment of problem-based learning in the context of higher education and to propose an assessment model. A systematic review of the literature was conducted, based on the Consolidated Meta-Analytic Approach Theory, with searches carried out in the Web of Science and Scopus indexed databases. In total, 22 articles were selected, whose results showed that the most commonly used assessment methods to verify the effectiveness of problem-based learning include pre- and post-tests (gain tests), interviews, Likert scale questionnaires, and multiple-choice tests. The recommendation to use pre- and post-tests stands out, as they allow for the formation of more homogeneous experimental groups and lend greater robustness to the analysis of the methodology's efficiency.
